Supplementor was started in 2018 by Dr. Priya Patel, a former 6th-grade math teacher at Mendez Middle School and PhD in Education from the University of Texas at Austin. After eight years inside the public-school system, Priya saw the same pattern in classroom after classroom: bright students falling behind not because they couldn't learn, but because thirty kids per teacher meant no one had time to walk them through the steps they were missing.
She started tutoring two neighborhood families in her dining room. Word spread. Eight years later, Supplementor employs 38 vetted educators across Travis, Williamson, and Hays counties, and we have walked more than 2,400 K-12 students through everything from kindergarten phonics to AP Calculus to the digital SAT.
We supplement what kids learn in school. We are private tutors and test-prep specialists. Classroom teachers do an incredible job with limited time — our role is to fill in the gaps, reinforce the wins, and make every student feel like they have a coach in their corner.
Every Supplementor tutor holds at least a Bachelor's in their teaching subject, passes a state criminal background check, and completes 22 hours of internal training before they ever sit at a kitchen table with one of our families. Step 1
Every engagement starts with a free 30-minute consultation followed by a no-pressure placement-check session. The tutor walks through grade-level material with your student to figure out exactly where the strong foundation ends and the shakier ground begins. Many parents tell us this conversation alone is worth the call.
Step 2
This is where most tutoring services cut corners. We match students to tutors based on subject expertise, personality fit, scheduling overlap, and learning-style preferences. A shy fifth-grader doesn't need a high-energy tutor — and a teenager preparing for the AP Physics exam doesn't need a generalist. Mismatches kill momentum, so we take this step seriously.
Step 3
Each tutoring session is 60 or 90 minutes, broken into a quick warm-up, focused work on the target skill, and a short review. Tutors take session notes that go directly into the family's portal. Every six weeks we run a low-stakes mastery check on the skills the student has been working on. If progress is on track, we plan the next module. We protect your information using industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical safeguards including TLS-encrypted transmission, encrypted-at-rest storage, role-based access controls, and routine security review. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work hard to come close.
We retain parent and student information for the duration of an active tutoring relationship plus seven years thereafter for tax and legal-record purposes, after which records are securely deleted. Marketing-list emails are retained until you unsubscribe.
Students under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian enroll on their behalf. Students between 13 and 17 may communicate directly with their assigned tutor about session content but may not enter into payment agreements with Supplementor.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active families by email at least 30 days before they take effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy reflects the most recent revision.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of supplementor.org (the "Website") and the tutoring services provided by Supplementor LLC ("Supplementor," "we," "our," or "us"). By using the Website or enrolling a student, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website or enroll.
Supplementor provides private K-12 academic tutoring and standardized test-preparation services to students residing primarily in the greater Austin, Texas metropolitan area. Tutoring is offered in three formats: one-on-one in-home sessions within a 25-mile radius of our Manor Rd. learning center, one-on-one online sessions delivered via our shared digital whiteboard platform, and small-group cohorts of two to four students hosted at our Austin learning center.
Supplementor is an academic tutoring service. We are not a school, do not issue grades or transcripts, and do not replace mandatory K-12 schooling required by Texas state law.
Tutoring services may only be enrolled by a parent or legal guardian of the student. The enrolling adult represents that they are at least 18 years of age, have legal authority over the student's educational decisions, and accept financial responsibility for tutoring fees.
All Supplementor tutors hold current Texas Department of Public Safety background checks and complete internal child-safety training. Tutors are required to maintain professional, age-appropriate conduct at all times. For in-home sessions, a parent, guardian, or authorized adult must be present in the home for the duration of any session involving a student under 16.
Sessions are scheduled in advance through our family portal or by direct communication with the assigned tutor. Cancellation policies:
Either party may end the tutoring relationship at any time with 48 hours notice. Any unused prepaid sessions will be refunded pro-rated to the most recent two-week billing cycle.
Tutoring fees are quoted at enrollment based on format, grade level, and frequency. Standard sessions are billed in two-week cycles in advance. Bootcamp programs are billed as a single package fee. Payment is accepted by credit card, debit card, or ACH. We do not accept cash for student safety reasons. Past-due balances over 14 days will pause active tutoring until resolved.
Free 30-minute initial consultations are non-refundable because they are free. Placement Check sessions are non-refundable once delivered. Two-week cycle prepayments are refunded pro-rata for any unused sessions when service ends. Bootcamp packages are refundable on a sliding scale: 100% before the first session, 50% within the first two weeks, no refund after week three.
All content on supplementor.org — including text, graphics, logos, photographs, instructional materials, lesson plans, practice tests, and proprietary placement-check frameworks — is the exclusive property of Supplementor LLC or its licensors and is protected by United States copyright and trademark law. Families enrolled in our programs receive a non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use Supplementor instructional materials solely for their own student's education during the period of active enrollment. Reproduction, redistribution, public posting, or commercial reuse of Supplementor materials is strictly prohibited.

To the maximum extent permitted by Texas law, Supplementor LLC's total liability arising from or related to these Terms or any tutoring service shall not exceed the total fees paid by the family to Supplementor in the twelve months preceding the claim. Supplementor shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost academic opportunities, lost test-score outcomes, or lost admissions outcomes. Tutoring is an educational service. We work hard, but academic outcomes depend on many factors beyond our control.
Supplementor does not guarantee any specific grade, test score, admission decision, or academic outcome. Statistics published on supplementor.org (such as "average 218-point SAT lift") reflect historical averages across our student population and are not predictive of individual results.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Supplementor LLC, its officers, employees, and tutors from any claim, demand, or damage arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of Supplementor services.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the use of Supplementor services shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas. The parties waive any right to a jury trial. Before filing suit, the parties agree to attempt resolution in good faith via written notice and a 30-day cure period.
Supplementor may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes affecting enrolled families will be communicated by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Website or services after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any signed enrollment agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and Supplementor regarding the Website and our tutoring services.
